UPV Tacloban dorm razed. Help needed!
Posted by Rex | Under Uncategorized Saturday Jul 19, 2008
Last night we received news that a private dormitory near the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College (UPVTC) was razed by a fire leaving 84 UPVTC students without clothes and school materials. The rest of their provisions were also said to have completely burned.
The students are now being accomodated in the university cafeteria and library while the UPV administration is supporting their food expenses.
UPVTC does not have a dormitory of its own so students resort to a nearby private dormitory which has practically served as the college dorm.
The Graduate Students of Fisheries Association has launched a campaign to gather 84 notebooks to donate to the UPVTC student victims of the fire incident. Meanwhile, other organizations and individuals are strongly encouraged to also extend whatever support to the victims.
If you are interested to help in any way, please post your inquiries below and we will try to course you to the right channels. You may also try to directly contact the Chancellor’s office through UPV trunkline 63-033-5138770 to 71.
