UPV Miagao from Google Earth

The Miagao Campus of the University of the Phillipines Visayas is finally covered by high reolution imagery in Google Earth! I’ve been hoping for this moment for years! Luckily, there are no clouds at all and the colors are excellent. The satellite image was taken July 16, 2002 so if you were out there on the field on that day, check out these pictures closely!

Let’s take a closer look at the different buildings of my university campus.

New Administration Building and the School of Technology
I notice there are line marks on the road going towards the dormitory. Perhaps the image was taken sometime in 2001or 2002.

College Unioin building (CUB), Library Building, and the Villadolid Hall (Old Adminitration Building)

College of Arts and Sciences

College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences Audio-Visual Hall, Faculty Center, and Dry & Wet Laboratories (partly shown)

CFOS Hatchery

Infirmary and Executive House

Staff Housing

Balay Kanlaon (Hall 2), Balay Gumamela (GD), Balay Lampirong (Hall 1), Balay Apitong (GH), Common Dining Hall (CDH), Balay Madyaas (BD)

Tennis Court, Covered Court, Grandstand, and the (Football) Field

Physical Plant Office and Water Reservoir

CFOS Freshwater Aquaculture Station
I love seeing the lush greenery that surrounds the university buildings. This place is such a great place to study in!
The recent imagery update of Google Earth also covers a large portion of Iloilo (Oton, Tigbauan, Guimbal, Miagao, Igbaras, Tubungan, Alimodian). I have yet so explore the rest of the Philippines. There’s so much to see!
Sigh, I always find myself restless during Google Earth updates!
